Stat5 Antibody (A-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to detect STAT5, also known as Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 5A and 5B (STAT5A/B). STAT5 monoclonal antibody (A-9) targets the amino acid region 661-794 of human STAT5a and is effective in recognizing STAT5a and STAT5b across mouse, rat, and human species. Anti-STAT5 antibody (A-9) is compatible with various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). STAT5 (A-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms such as horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates. STAT5 proteins play a pivotal role in mediating cellular responses to cytokines and growth factors by undergoing phosphorylation through receptor tyrosine kinases or G protein-coupled receptors. Upon activation, STAT5a and STAT5b form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the nucleus to initiate transcription of genes involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, particularly within lymphohematopoietic cells. This signaling is crucial for processes like T-cell receptor signaling, mammary gland development, and regulation of liver gene expression related to sexual dimorphism. Aberrant STAT5 activity is associated with various diseases, including acute promyelocytic leukemia, where STAT5b can fuse with the retinoic acid receptor alpha gene.
