SEE ALSO...

γ-Actin Antibody (1-17) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects gamma-Actin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-gamma-Actin antibody (1-17) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Actin is a vital protein that plays a crucial role in various cellular functions, including maintaining cell shape, enabling motility, and facilitating intracellular transport. Gamma-Actin is predominantly located in the cytoplasm, where gamma-Actin forms dynamic structures known as filaments that are essential for cellular integrity and movement. The ability of gamma-Actin to polymerize and depolymerize allows cells to adapt their shape and respond to environmental cues, which is particularly important in processes such as wound healing and immune responses. In mammalian tissues, gamma-Actin is one of the three main isoforms, alongside α-Actin and β-Actin, with specific roles in non-muscle cells. The regulation of gamma-Actin dynamics is influenced by various proteins, including members of the small GTPase family, which orchestrate the assembly and disassembly of actin filaments, thereby impacting cellular behavior and function.
