ABCG2 Antibody (BXP-21) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects ABCG2 in mouse, rat, and human samples by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-ABCG2 antibody (BXP-21) is available in a non-conjugated form, allowing for versatile applications in research. The ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter family, to which ABCG2 belongs, plays a crucial role in the transport of various molecules across cellular membranes, utilizing energy derived from ATP hydrolysis. ABCG2, also known as placenta-specific ABC transporter and breast cancer resistance protein (BCRP1), is particularly significant due to involvement in conferring resistance to chemotherapeutic agents, including anthracyclines and topotecan. This resistance mechanism impacts chemotherapy efficacy in cancer treatment. ABCG2 is a key player in stem cell biology, with widespread expression in various stem cell populations and responsibility for the side population (SP) phenotype associated with stem cell properties. ABCG2 is abundantly expressed in placenta, liver, intestine, and stem cells, highlighting a protective role in detoxifying cells and regulating stem cell differentiation. ABCG2 may undergo post-translational modifications such as N-linked glycosylation and can dimerize in vivo, influencing function and protein interactions.
