NOS1 Antibody (H-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody engineered to detect neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS), also known as NOS1 or ncNOS. NOS1 monoclonal antibody (H-7) is raised against amino acids 2-300 of the human NOS1 protein, ensuring effective recognition of NOS1 in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Neuronal nitric oxide synthase is a critical enzyme responsible for the production of nitric oxide (NO), a versatile signaling molecule involved in processes like neurotransmission, synaptic plasticity, and neuronal communication. The structure of NOS1 comprises an N-terminal oxygenase domain and a C-terminal reductase domain, which are essential for enzymatic activity and require homodimerization for proper function. This structural organization allows NOS1 to facilitate the conversion of L-arginine to NO, a reaction dependent on multiple cofactors including NADPH, FAD, FMN, calmodulin, tetrahydrobiopterin, and heme. Understanding the intricate structure of NOS1 is vital as this knowledge underpins the enzyme′s role in regulating precise NO production within neurons, thereby influencing various physiological and pathological processes. NOS1′s structural domains also differentiate NOS1 from other nitric oxide synthase isoforms, such as inducible NOS2 and endothelial NOS3, each with unique functional implications. Anti-NOS1 antibody (H-7) is available in both non-conjugated form and a variety of conjugated forms, including horseradish peroxidase (HRP), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for diverse experimental setups. By enabling detailed analysis of NOS1′s structural and functional properties, NOS1 (H-7) antibody supports advanced research into NO-mediated neuronal signaling and its impact on health and disease, ultimately aiding in the development of targeted therapeutic strategies.
