Datasheets
  • EF-2 Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b κ provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 811-849 near the C-terminus of EF-2 of human origin
  • recommended for detection of EF-2 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA
  • m-IgG2b BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for EF-2 Antibody (H-8) for WB and IHC(P) applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with EF-2 Antibody (H-8) (see ordering information below).

    SEE ALSO...

EF-2 Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects EF-2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EF-2, or elongation factor 2, is a crucial GTPase that plays a vital role in the elongation phase of protein biosynthesis on the ribosome, facilitating the translocation of tRNAs and mRNAs during translation. This process is essential for the accurate synthesis of proteins, as EF-2 ensures that the ribosome moves along the mRNA strand, exposing new codons for decoding, which is critical for maintaining the fidelity of protein production. The proper functioning of EF-2 is not only important for cellular growth and function but also has implications in various diseases, including cancer, where protein synthesis is often dysregulated. Anti-EF-2 antibody (H-8) provides a reliable tool for researchers studying the dynamics of protein synthesis and its regulation in different biological contexts.
