C3G Antibody (F-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects C3G in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). C3G plays a crucial role as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for Ras, a key regulator in various cellular processes, including cell growth, differentiation, and survival. C3G (F-5) antibody helps researchers study how C3G activates Ras by facilitating the exchange of GDP for GTP, which is vital for proper cellular signaling; dysregulation of this process can lead to oncogenic transformations and contribute to cancer progression. Located in the cytoplasm, C3G interacts with the Crk proto-oncogene product, linking it to pathways that modulate Ras activity. The C3G gene is situated on human chromosome 9q34.13, near the c-Abl gene, which is also implicated in cancer. Anti-C3G antibody (F-5) serves as an essential tool for researchers studying the intricate mechanisms of Ras signaling and its implications in tumor biology, providing insights into potential therapeutic targets for cancer treatment.
