Cytokeratin 19 Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody developed to detect Cytokeratin 19, also known as KRT19, a pivotal intermediate filament protein in epithelial cells. Cytokeratin 19 plays a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity and mechanical resilience of epithelial tissues, facilitating cell differentiation and tissue specialization. Located within the cytoskeletal network of the cell, Cytokeratin 19 interacts with other keratins such as KRT8 and binding proteins like plectin and desmoplakin, which are essential for linking the cytoskeleton to cellular junctions and ensuring cellular stability. Cytokeratin 19 undergoes post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation, which regulate filament assembly and disassembly, thereby influencing cellular signaling pathways and dynamics essential for processes like cell migration and division. Anti-Cytokeratin 19 antibody (A-3) targets an epitope between amino acids 7-29 at the N-terminus of Cytokeratin 19, ensuring reliable detection across multiple species including mouse, rat, human, equine, and porcine, and is compatible with various applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Cytokeratin 19 is extensively used as a biomarker in cancer research, aiding in the diagnosis and characterization of malignancies such as breast, liver, and lung cancers due to its expression in tumor cells and its fragments like CYFRA 21-1 serving as important tumor markers. Cytokeratin 19 monoclonal antibody (A-3) facilitates the study of epithelial cell behavior in both normal and pathological conditions, advancing our understanding of epithelial biology and tumor progression. Cytokeratin 19 (A-3) antibody offers flexibility for diverse experimental protocols in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, ensuring precise and consistent results in research and diagnostic endeavors.
