Description
Avidin-D is a deglycosylated avidin purified from egg white with a neutral isoelectric point (pI = 6.3). Avidin-D is preferred for it’s highly specific binding to Biotin (sc-204706). The activity of Avidin-D is approximately 13-14 units per mg of protein. May be used in Flow cytometry, Enzyme-Linked-Immunosorbent-Assay (ELISA), Immunoblotting, and Immunohistochemistry applications. Native Avidin (sc-362068), and/or Streptavidin (sc-363872) bind extremely well with Biotin, but they may exhibit non-specific binding of lectins or other carbohydrate binding proteins, cell surface proteins and Fibronectin.
Usage
Since applications vary, the optimal working dilution should be determined by the researcher.
