Description
TBS (Tris Buffered Saline) is a buffer used in some biochemical techniques to maintain the pH within a relatively narrow range. Typically used in immunolabeling techniques as a wash buffer. TBS has many uses because it is isotonic and non-toxic. It can be used to dilute substances. Contents of one pouch, when dissolved in one liter of distilled or deionized water, will yield 0.05 M Tris buffered saline (NaCl - 0.138 M; KCl - 0.0027 M); pH 8.0, at 25 °C.
