Tris-Borate-EDTA Buffer, 10X Powder Pack sc-296651 makes 1 L of 10X $19
Description
Tris-Borate-EDTA (TBE) buffer, 10X Powder Pack is the most commonly used buffer for DNA and RNA polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. TBE is used with non-denaturing or denaturing (7 M urea) gels. It is also routinely used for DNA automated sequencing gel. TBE can also be used for agarose gels but is not recommended for preparative gels for recovery of nucleic acids. Since borate in TBE buffer is a strong inhibitor for many enzymes, TAE buffer (Tris Acetate-EDTA buffer, 10X powder, sc-296647) is recommended when looking at enzymatic applications for the DNA sample.
Additional forms available:
Tris-Borate-EDTA buffer, 10X (sc-296650)
Tris-Borate-EDTA buffer, 5X (sc-296652)
Usage
Ready for use following dilution to working concentrations. Each packet provides an adequate amount of material to make 1 L of 10X concentrate that can be diluted to a 1X solution containing 89 mM Tris-borate and 2 mM EDTA, pH 8.3. The 5X or 10X stocks may also be added to an acrylamide/bis-acrylamide stock solution for making PAGE gels.
