Description

This product is a medium for density gradient centrifugation of viruses, cells, and subcellular particles. It is made of colloidal silica coated with polyvinylpyrrolidone, making the material non-toxic and thus useful with biological materials. The centrifugation of this material results in a density gradient because of the medium’s particle size heterogeneity. When using high speed centrifugation, the sample can be premixed with the medium and then separated on the gradient created.
