SEE ALSO...

GABP-α Antibody (G-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects GABP-alpha protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-GABP-alpha antibody (G-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GABP-alpha protein, a crucial component of the GA-binding protein transcription factor complex, plays a significant role in regulating gene expression by binding to specific DNA sequences. GABP-alpha protein is primarily located in the nucleus, where GABP-alpha forms a heterodimer with the GABPβ subunit, which exists in two splice variants, b1 and b2, differing in their C-termini. Nuclear localization of GABP-alpha is essential for modulating transcriptional activity, as GABP-alpha coordinates the expression of genes involved in critical cellular processes, including mitochondrial function and stress responses. GABPαβ tetrameric complex stimulates transcription of the adenovirus E4 gene, activates BRCA1 expression in human breast cell lines, enhances Tat-mediated transcription in certain cell types, and regulates the transcription of the rpL32 gene, highlighting GABP-alpha′s importance in both normal physiology and disease states.

Are there antibodies available for both the phosphorylated (Thr-280) and unphosphorylated forms of GABP alpha, and which does this antibody detect?

Asked by: CLangstaff
Thank you for your question. Anti-GABP-α Antibody (G-1): sc-28312 detects both phosphorylated and nonphosphorylated GABP-α. We currently do not offer any antibodies against this target that only recognize phosphorylated or only nonphosphorylated GABP-α.

Is there a blocking peptide for this antibody?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. Our GABP-a antibody sc-28312 is raised against a recombinant protein, not a short peptide sequence, so it is not possible to design a blocking peptide for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good qualityWe compared the antibodies Abcam and Santa , and from the tests we found that no difference could be obtained, but the Santa's antibody was half the price of abcam. Under the same conditions, we are willing to prefer Santa antibodies. we suggest other users this antibody for 1:600 dilution.
