GATA-1 Antibody (N1) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects GATA-1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). GATA-1 (N1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. GATA-1 plays a crucial role in erythropoiesis, as GATA-1 is essential for the transcriptional regulation of erythroid-specific genes, thereby influencing the development of red blood cells. GATA-1 is primarily located in the nucleus, where GATA-1 binds to the WGATAR consensus sequence through its conserved zinc finger DNA-binding domain, facilitating the expression of genes necessary for erythroid lineage commitment. Nuclear localization of GATA-1 enables precise control over gene expression during hematopoiesis, ensuring the proper formation and function of erythrocytes. GATA-1 interacts with other GATA family members, such as GATA-2 and GATA-3, which exhibit broader regulatory capabilities, highlighting the intricate network of transcription factors that govern blood cell development. Understanding GATA-1 dynamics and interactions is vital for elucidating the mechanisms underlying erythropoiesis and potential implications in related disorders.

Does GATA-1 (N1) sc-266 bind to N-terminal or C-terminal of GATA1? I want to detect C-terminal only. Thank you

Asked by: Double T
Thank you for your questin. GATA-1 Antibody (N1): sc-266 was raised against bacterially expressed murine GATA-1. No epitope mapping of this antibody has so far been performed, so we are not able to say whether it recognizes the N- or C-terminus or an internal region of the protein. Feel free to contact our Technical Service Department for more information on how to receive a free 10 µg sample of GATA-1 (N1): sc-266 if you would like to test the antibody.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-266 X be used instead of the standard form sc-266?

Asked by: TinTin
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
