Hi, I would like to know about the megalin Antibody (H-245): sc-25470. Why I am observing a band at 55KDa, when the protein size is 600Kda. Does this band show a cleaved form of megalin ? Thank you, Rajiv

Thank you for your question. The expected molecular weight of megalin is 600 kDa. The Western blot data shown on our website for this antibody is against a truncated fusion-protein and is not representative of the endogenous molecular weight of the megalin protein. This rabbit polyclonal antibody, megalin (H-245): sc-25470 is now discontinued. We would recommend using our alternative monoclonal, megalin (G-9): sc-515750. We have Western blot data in rat kidney tissue extract showing endogenous expression of the high molecular weight megalin protein using this antibody.
