Isoimperatorin exhibits anti-inflammatory properties and impacts proliferation. Extensive research has explored its ability to influence the expression of specific genes associated with inflammatory and metabolic pathways. Additionally, it has demonstrated potential interactions with proteins involved in cell growth and survival regulation. In bone marrow-derived mast cells, isoimperatorin has shown inhibitory effects on COX-1 and COX-2-dependent phases of prostaglandin D2 generation, with IC50 values of 24 μM and 10.7 μM, respectively. It has also exhibited inhibitory activity on leukotriene D4 production, suggesting 5-lipoxygenase inhibition. Notably, it displayed chemopreventive effects against aflatoxin B-1 on H4IIE cells by enhancing GSTα activity. Moreover, isoimperatorin completely eliminated 3-methylchoranthrene-inducible CYP1A activity at 2 μM. Although the exact mechanism of action for isoimperatorin remains incompletely understood, it is postulated to modulate the expression of specific genes involved in inflammatory and metabolic pathways. Furthermore, it is believed to interact with certain proteins that play a role in regulating cell growth and survival.
