3-Hydroxyanthranilic acid is a tryptophan metabolite along the kynurenine pathway. 3-Hydroxyanthranilic acid may act to induce apoptosis in T cells. In macrophages, 3-Hydroxyanthranilic acid may act to inhibit nitric oxide synthase and to stimulate TGF-β production.
