Bromocresol Green sodium salt (BCG) is a dye of the triphenylmethane family (triarylmethane dyes). BCG is used as a pH indicator and as a tracking dye for DNA agarose gel electrophoresis. It also binds quantitatively with human albumin forming an intense blue-green complex. Transition Interval: pH 3.8 (yellow) to pH 5.4 (blue).
