Dermatan sulfate (Chrondroitin Sulfate B) is a mucopolysaccharide containing iduronic acid. Dermatan sulfate is abundant in skin, arterial walls, and heart valves, and may act to inhibit adenylate cyclase from rat hepatic membranes. Dermatan sulfate acts as a potent mediator of fibroblast growth factor-2 responsiveness.
