Description
Ammonium persulfate (APS) is a catalyst for acrylamide gel polymerization. Used in conjunction with TEMED (sc-29111) to promote polymerization of Acrylamide/bis-Acrylamide gels. Ready-to-use Acrylamide solutions are available for your convenience: Acrylamide Solution, 40% (sc-3721) and N,N′-Methylenebis-Acrylamide, 2% (sc-3719).
Usage
For use in polyacrylamide gels, prepare a fresh solution of APS each day. Solutions are not stable even when protected from light and air. Solution may be stored at 4°C for up to 12 hours.
