Description
AEBSF is a broad spectrum, water soluble, irreversible serine protease inhibitor. It has been shown to inhibit the constitutive production of beta amyloid (A beta) in five different human cell lines, both neural and non-neural. AEBSF also inhibits activation of TGFβ (transforming growth factor beta), moderately inhibits CD26 (Dipeptidyl peptidase IV: DPP IV) and activates JNK and p38 MAP kinases. AEBSF is a b-secretase inhibitor that has been shown to inhibit beta amyloid peptide production and enhance APP (amyloid precursor protein) secretion in several cell lines at millimolar concentrations. This product maintains stability at slightly acidic aqueous solutions and serves as a nontoxic alternative to PMSF (sc-3597) and DFP.
Usage
• Use AEBSF at the same molar concentrations (0.1 - 1.0 mM) as PMSF for most applications.
