CD34 Antibody (MEC 14.7) is a rat monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects CD34 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-CD34 antibody (MEC 14.7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. CD34 is a heavily glycosylated transmembrane glycoprotein that plays a crucial role in the identification and isolation of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells, as CD34 is expressed on their surface. CD34 presence is particularly important because CD34 serves as a marker for the most primitive stem cells, which are essential for the maintenance and regeneration of the hematopoietic system. As these stem cells differentiate into lineage-committed progenitors, CD34 expression diminishes, making CD34 a valuable tool for researchers studying stem cell biology and differentiation pathways. Additionally, CD34 is found on small-vessel endothelial cells and certain cells in fetal and adult nervous tissue, highlighting CD34′s diverse roles in various biological contexts. The cytoplasmic domain of CD34 contains consensus sites for phosphorylation by activated protein kinase C and other kinases, which may influence signaling pathways critical for cell adhesion and migration.
