 |  Datasheet

(Based on data analysis)

  • p-PKC δ Antibody (Tyr 525) is a goat polyclonal IgG provided at 200 µg/ml; also available as rabbit IgG provided at 200 µg/ml, sc-18368-R
  • recommended for detection of Tyr 525 phosphorylated PKC δ of human origin by WB and IF; also reactive with additional species, including avian
  • blocking peptide, sc-18368 P

See additional PKC Antibodies including PKC, PKC alpha, PKC beta, PKC delta, PKC epsilon, PKC eta, PKC gamma, PKC iota, PKC lambda, PKC mu, PKC nu, PKC theta, PKC zeta and Pkc1.

Members of the protein kinase C (PKC) family play a key regulatory role in a variety of cellular functions, including cell growth and differentiation, gene expression, hormone secretion and membrane function (1,2). PKCs were originally identified as serine/threonine protein kinases whose activity was dependent on calcium and phospholipids (3). Diacylglycerols (DAG) and tumor promoting phorbol esters bind to and activate PKC (4,5). PKCs can be subdivided into at least two major classes, including conventional (c) PKC isoforms (å, ∫I, ∫II and ©) and novel (n) PKC isoforms (∂, é , Ω, h and †) (6). PKC isoforms can be activated through tyrosine phosphorylation and catalytically activated upon treatment with H2O2 (7,8). The Tyr 155, 525, 523 and 565 residues in the catalytic domain are crucial for activation of these enzymes (7,8). The residue Ser 643 appears to be an autophosphorylation site (9).
