SEE ALSO...

GAPDH Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody raised against full-length human glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), recognizing GAPDH and GAPDH-2 in mouse, rat, and human samples. Anti-GAPDH antibody (A-3) is suitable for western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). GAPDH is a key glycolytic enzyme catalyzing the oxidative phosphorylation of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate, an essential step in carbohydrate metabolism. Beyond glycolytic function, GAPDH undergoes various post-translational modifications (PTMs) such as S-nitrosylation, acetylation, phosphorylation, ubiquitination, and ADP-ribosylation, which modulate activity, localization, and protein-protein interactions. These modifications are crucial for enabling GAPDH′s roles in diverse cellular processes, including transcription regulation, DNA repair, and nuclear RNA export. For example, S-nitrosylation facilitates GAPDH′s translocation to the nucleus during apoptosis, linking GAPDH to programmed cell death pathways. Similarly, acetylation and phosphorylation can regulate GAPDH′s involvement in cellular stress responses and protein aggregation, particularly in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer′s and Huntington′s. PTMs also affect GAPDH expression and function in cancer, where GAPDH is often upregulated and contributes to tumor progression. GAPDH (A-3) antibody is an indispensable tool for investigating how PTMs influence GAPDH′s multifaceted roles in health and disease, advancing research in metabolism, cancer, and neurodegeneration.

Is GAPDH Antibody (A-3): sc-137179 available directly conjugated to HRP or fluorescent dyes?

Asked by: jenni
Thank you for your question. All requests for directly conjugated versions of this antibody should be directed to our Special Orders team at specialorders@scbt.com Alternatively, consider using GAPDH (0411), which is available conjugated to agarose, HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488 and Alexa Fluor® 647. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good selectivity but not as sensitiveThis GAPDH has nice selectivity for just GAPDH at 37k Da but it is not as sensitive as other manufacturers. I blocked my blot in 5% BSA and added 1:500 GAPDH overnight at 4 degrees C. The blot had a very faint GAPDH band using Pico detection reagent.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from GAPDH antibodyI got three anti GAPDH antibody one month ago. Only sc-365062 has bind in 37 kDa for Rat kidney. sc137179 and sc47724 have very strong bind in 70-80kDa, weak bind in 37kDa. I don't know it is normal for Rat kidney of GAPDH MW 70-80 kDa or antibody something happened.
