SEE ALSO...

EBF Antibody (C-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects EBF protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). EBF (C-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Early B cell factor (EBF) plays a crucial role in B lymphocyte maturation, a complex process that requires specific transcription factors at different stages of cell differentiation. EBF is a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) homodimeric transcription factor that binds to the core DNA sequence, CCCNNGGG, through a specialized DNA recognition domain featuring a zinc-coordination motif. EBF protein is essential for the activation of genes involved in early B cell development, including those encoding B lymphoid kinase (Blk) and components of the early stage B cell receptors (BCR), which are vital for initiating immunoglobulin light chain gene recombination and Src kinase signaling. Additionally, EBF has been shown to interact with specific neuron-related genes, highlighting EBF′s importance not only in B cell biology but also in neuronal development. EBF′s ability to regulate these critical pathways underscores EBF′s significance in both the immune system and neurogenesis, making anti-EBF antibody (C-8) a valuable tool for researchers studying these processes.

I am using EBF (C-8): sc-137065 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: cjMara
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
