apoB Antibody (C1.4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the apoB protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-apoB antibody (C1.4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. apoB protein plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism, serving as a primary structural component of lipoproteins that transport cholesterol and triglycerides in the bloodstream. This function is vital for maintaining lipid homeostasis and preventing cardiovascular diseases, as imbalances in lipoprotein levels can lead to atherosclerosis and other metabolic disorders. Notably, two isoforms of apoB circulate in the plasma: apoB-100, synthesized in the liver, and apoB-48, produced in the small intestine through a unique post-transcriptional editing process. The ability of the body to produce these distinct forms of apoB from a single gene highlights the importance of RNA editing in regulating lipid metabolism and underscores the relevance of apoB monoclonal antibody (C1.4) in research focused on cardiovascular health and metabolic diseases.
