If the product is specified for mice, can it work on rat tissue¿

Asked by: XimenaYri
Thank you for your question. PGC-1α(H-300) was recommended for detection of PGC-1α of mouse, rat and human origin. This antibody has been discontinued. We recommend you use one of our monoclonal alternatives, such as PGC-1α Anticuerpo (D-5): sc-518025, which is recommended for detection of PGC-1α of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA.

I am getting a band between 37 and 50 kDa with this antibody. Has someone else reported this?

Asked by: Kranti
Thank you for your question. The expected molecular weight of PGC-1α is 90 kDa, but do not have information regarding a smaller size. We recommend using our monoclonal alternative PGC-1α Antibody (D-5): sc-518025. Please contact our technical service if you require further information.

I performed an immunoprecipitation using this antibody (PGC-1 alpha Antibody - H-300) and I had a problem since the heavy chain (HC, 55 kDa) of the IP antibody were also recognized.

Asked by: johnny86
Thank you for your question. This is rabbit polyclonal antibody, PGC-1α (H-300): sc-13067, is expected to detect the PGC-1α protein at approximately 91 kDa. The heavy chain of IgG is approximately 55 kDa. Therefore, observing the heavy chain IgG band from your immunoprecipitating antibody should not interfere with detection of your target protein. However, if you wish to not observe the heavy chain, then we would recommend using a different antibody for your Western blot. For example, a mouse monoclonal against PGC-1α. Then you could use an anti-mouse IgG secondary antibody, that would not recognize the heavy chain of the rabbit IgG primary used for immunoprecipitation.

I used this antibody on cells and get 2 bands very close together which one is pgc1 alpha upper or lower

Asked by: Joey88
Thank you for your question. We are sorry to hear that this antibody did not perform as expected. It is very difficult to say which band is which without having more information. Please reach out to our Technical Service Department by phone, e-mail or live chat. We are happy to help you troubleshoot the antibody and make sure you get the results you are looking for!
