myogenin Antibody (F5D) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody targeting an epitope within amino acids 138-158 of rat myogenin, with reactivity in mouse, rat, and human species. myogenin monoclonal antibody (F5D) is suitable for applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry on paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). Myogenin, also known as MYOG, is a member of the myogenic regulatory factor (MRF) family, which includes MyoD, Myf-5, and Myf-6 (MRF4 or herculin), and plays a critical role in the differentiation of skeletal muscle cells. As a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor, myogenin binds to E-box sequences (CANNTG) in the promoter regions of muscle-specific genes by forming heterodimers with E proteins such as E2A and HEB. Myogenin is expressed during the differentiation phase of myogenesis, ensuring the activation of genes required for terminal muscle cell differentiation. This function is essential for the proper formation, maintenance, and repair of skeletal muscle tissue. Dysregulation of myogenin can affect muscle development and regeneration, underscoring myogenin′s importance in muscle biology. myogenin monoclonal antibody (F5D) is a valuable tool for investigating the molecular mechanisms governing myogenesis and skeletal muscle development.
