BCLAF1 Antibody (M33-P5B11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BCLAF1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BCLAF1 (M33-P5B11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BCLAF1, also known as BCL2-associated transcription factor 1, is a 920 amino acid protein that plays a critical role in the regulation of apoptosis, a vital process for maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to cellular stress. BCLAF1 is primarily located in the nucleus and cytoplasm, where BCLAF1 functions as a death-promoting factor by interacting with and repressing the transcription of Bcl-2, a well-known anti-apoptotic protein. BCLAF1′s ability to modulate Bcl-2 levels is crucial, as BCLAF1 helps to balance cell survival and death, thereby influencing tissue development and immune responses. Notably, BCLAF1 undergoes alternative splicing, resulting in four distinct isoforms, which may have different regulatory roles in apoptosis and cellular signaling pathways. BCLAF1 overexpression can lead to accumulation at the nuclear envelope, triggering apoptosis in response to DNA damage, highlighting BCLAF1′s importance in cancer biology and therapeutic interventions.
